In the beginning...
Goodness Me! began thirty years ago when we opened our doors to the people of Hamilton under the enthusiastic leadership of Janet Jacks and her husband Scott. Scott was a type I diabetic, as were many of his family members, and Janet recognized that her five children were more likely to develop diabetes because of their genetics. She wanted to do whatever she could to protect and heal her family, and her research of natural foods pointed to nutrition as the key to healthy living. It wasn’t easy to find the foods and supplements Janet was looking for, and out of this thirst for proper health, Goodness Me! was born.
For some time, Janet was the only employee in our first small store: she baked, ordered, priced, ran cash, as talked to and educated customers. Now, with four convenient locations, hundreds of knowledgeable and friendly staff, and thousands of amazing natural and organic products, we are the natural choice for your health.
We have been in the business for quite a while, and have seen many health food stores come and go. We have remained strong due to Janet’s commitment to continually educating our customers about the rapidly changing work of health through nutrition. We bring people together who are seeking to be healthy, educate them about their choices, and motivate them to take the steps necessary to achieve their optimal health.
