That Lingering Common Cold...
The common cold is the most common of all human diseases, infecting adults at an average rate of 2–4 infections per year, and school-aged children as many as 12 times per year! WOW! Symptoms of the common cold include sneezing, sniffling, runny nose, nasal congestion; aches and musle soreness; scratchy, sore, or phlegmy throat; coughing; headache; and tiredness. Colds typically last three to five days, but can often linger for over a week. Below we have listed some helpful tips below for fighting off the nasty cold virus.
Some general tips:
  • act quickly, start working to fight off the cold as soon as the first symptoms appear, the longer you wait the harder it will be to get rid of
  • consume light, nourishing foods such as broths and soups
  • get plenty of rest
  • eliminate sugar from your diet (you'll be amazed at how much quicker you recover without it!)
  • drink lots of fluids, especially hot water with fresh squeezed lemon

    Immune boosting supplements:
  • take the homeopathic remedy Ferr Phos every fifteen minutes to half an hour
  • take Vitamin C, Echinacea or Anti-Viral (SEE COUPON ABOVE), and aged garlic or AlliMax every two hours until you see an improvement, then every four hours for one more day or two

For infections starting in the throat:
  • zinc lozenges
  • hot drinks such as fresh lemon juice and honey
  • gargle with apple cider vinegar and water
  • R 1 (Reckeweg Formula 1) is very beneficial
  • Zand herbal throat spray

    For congestion:
  • ginger tea helps break up mucous and bring relief
  • add a drop or two of eucalyptus essential oil to your humidifier
  • fenugreek and thyme help to rid the nasal passages of mucus

The best way to escape the common cold is to keep you immune system strong with a healthy diet, good digestion, lots of sleep and low stress. But still make sure you avoid close contact with existing cold sufferers; wash your hands thoroughly and regularly; and avoid touching the face and eyes.
